Ara : The member of Bhojpur District Congress Committee and National Students Union of India burnt the effigies of PM Narendra Modi and Madhya Pradesh (MP)  CM Shivraj Chauhan  on June 8, 2017,  afternoon, at Shaheed Bhawan roundabout, Ara, in protest against arrest of AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi and preventing him from entering violence hit Mandsaur, MP.

Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Tiwari, a senior Congress leader said that there was a big gap in the words and act of PM Narendra Modi and his claim of being pro-poor, pro-farmer were false. ” When the farmers resorted to agitation for minimum support price for their produce at Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh they were fired upon and CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan supported police firing on the innocent farmers in which six of them were killed,” he said.
