Patna : Firing yet another salvo at RJD chief Lalu Parsad, senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Bihar legislative council Sushil Kumar Modi on June 10, 2017, alleged that the RJD chief’s daughter Hema Yadav had acquired “benami plot” at Danapur on the outskirts of Patna worth Rs 62 lakh from one Lallan Choudhary, a BPL card holder from Siwan district. He alleged that the payment for the land was not made through cheque.

Modi urged Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to order an inquiry into the matter. He said if the state government does not order a probe into the matter, the BJP would write to the Income-tax department besides moving the court.

Modi alleged that one Lallan Choudhary of Siwan district,  whose name figures in BPL list, had given his 7.75 decimal land in Patna worth Rs 62 lakh to Hema Yadav as a “gift.” The deed was signed in February 2014, Modi alleged. He claimed that Choudhary was even allotted an Indira Awas Unit as his name figures in BPL list.

Describing Modi’s allegations as baseless, RJD Mrityunjay Tiwary said these are oft-repeated allegations. All documents are there in the public domain, he claimed.
