Saharsa : Saharsa DM Vinod Singh Gunjiyal on August 22, 2017, evening, held a meeting with all the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) and asked them to update their cash-book daily. DM Gunjiyal also asked them to get stataments for all their accounts from the banks concerned. The bank statements must carry the ban’s seal and signature of the branch manager, the DM said adding the bank statement must also include the amount earned as interest.
Bihar Chief Secretary, in the wake of Srijan fund transfer scam, had recently directed all the DMs to update their cash-books.
The Saharsa DM has asked the DDOs to tally the bank statements with the cash book and in the event of any discrepancy immediately inform him. The DM also directed them to close the unnecessary bank accounts besides asking them to get the bank statements of current accounts at the end of every month and tally them with cash-book.
