Patna: Bihar cabinet on Friday decided to implement the Prime Minister crop insurance scheme with effect from April 1. Under the scheme, farmers will have to pay 2% of premium for rice, 1.5 % for wheat and five per cent for horticulture items.
The state cabient also decided to enhance the incentive for the Mamta workers engaged at sadar and primary health service centres from Rs 100 per delivery to Rs 300 per delivery.The Mamta workers help bring the expectant mothers to the hospitals for delivery. Assurance to increase their wages was given by CM Niish Kumar during the election campaign last year.
The ten decisions taken on Friday include creation of ten posts of additional district and sessions judge through selection from the advocates.After cabient meeting, Nitish held a meeting with the director general of police and principal secretary(home) and inquired about the progress in Aditya Sachdeva murder case.
