Saharsa : Mohd. Bittu Alam, 25, a Litchi dealer, was shot dead by unidentified criminals near Chakla Bridge under Saur Bazar police station in Saharsa District in North Bihar on June 8, 20202, late night, giving a hoot to police. Litchi dealer Alam died on the spot. Chakla Bridge is 18 km away from Saharsa Town.

Saur Bazar police station (PS), Jaishankar Prasad, reached the place of occurrence with force on getting information about the incident and sent the body to Saharsa Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was a native of a village under Kharik Police Station in Bhagalpur District and was on way to Saharsa town carrying Litchi to sale them there. But, the criminals overtook his pickup van on the way and fired on him, the SHO said. Alam sustained bullet injury in chest and died on the spot, the SHO said and added that police would soon crack the case.

SDPO, Saharsa, Prabhakar Tiwary, suspects that Litchi trader Alam had been killed due to professional rivalry. The kin of the deceased, on the other hand, alleged that he was killed under a conspiracy hatched by his colleagues. Police have detained few persons in connection with the incident.
