Bhojpur police arrest Up- Sarpanch in murder case

Ara : Police arrested a Up-Sarpanch Satyendra Ram on January 18, 2018, in connection with murder of a retired rail employee Dularchand Fali Ram at village Gopalpur  under Tarari police station in Bhojpur district and forwarded him to jail. A named FIR had been lodged with Tarari police station against three persons including the Up Sanpanch Satyendra Ram on the statement of Santosh Ram son of the deceased.

Dularchand Fali Ram and Up Sanpanch Satyendra Ram had a tiff about 20 days ago over a trivial after which the latter and his family members beat up and injured the former with traditional weapon and also complained to the police against him. Under their influence, Santosh Ram alleged, police arrested his injured father and brother and kept them under custody the whole night and did not bother for their medical treatment. Next day in the morning, police released them after taking heavy amount from his father and also advised him to compromise with the Up Sanpanch, Santosh alleged.

In the meantime, the condition of his father deteriorated for want of treatment and the doctors at Ara Sadar Hospital referred him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)in precarious condition where he succumbed to his injuries on January 16, 2018.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said that it was a serious matter to detain a person in the hazat for whole night and later releasing him after taking money. He said that the family members of the deceased had not given him any written complaint so far and added that action would be taken against the guilty officials after receiving written complaint.
