Two arrested for `selling’ liquor

Saharsa: Owner of a Kirana store at Patarghat Bazaar under Patarghat Police Outpost Banilal  Yadav and his son Ranjesh Kumar were arrested on August 2 after police recovered two bottles of Royal Stag from a cotton bag. The locals, however, suspect that someone had played mischief to settle score with Banilal, whose son Rajesh had love marriage with a girl related to a district board member, and apparently prohibition came handy in this connection to frame them. Banilal is a native of village Tekanma.

Patarghat OP incharge Kamlesh Kumar, on a tip off, conducted raid at Banilal Yadav’s shop and recovered two bottles of Royal Stag from a cotton bag in which mango, sugar and tea leaves were kept. Interestingly, Kamlesh Kumar lodged a complaint in this regard with Saur Bazaar police on August 3 and surprisingly he was also made the investigation officer of the case.
