Muzaffarpur : Development Commissioner Shishir Kumar Sinha, who on October 6, 2017, reviewed the progress of construction of toilets in the districts under Tirhut and Darbhanga Divisions including Muzaffarpur, told the DMs that Bihar had to be declared ODF at any cost by October 2018.

Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh said that against a target of construction of toilets at 53,083 houses this year, toilets had been constructed at 23,000 households so far. The review meeting made it clear that Darbhanga and Tirhut  Divisions lag far behind in the construction household toilets. Muzaffarpur district ranks 33rd in the state in the construction of toilets. Bihar has 38 districts.
