Central team visits Muzaffarpur to assess damage caused by flood

Muzaffarpur : Muzaffarpur DM, Dharmendra Singh, on October 6, 2017, informed a central team headed by Mukesh Mittal that the flood had caused a damage worth Rs 400 crore in the district this year. The central team visited the district on October 6 to assess the damage caused by the flood this year. It visited the flood hit Aurai block of the district.

The DM, in his report submitted to the central team, said that about 10 lakh people of 2.75 lakh families were affected by the flood in the district. The flood also claimed 72 human lives in the district, he informed the central team. The district administration would require around Rs 400 crore for relief and rehabilitation works, he said.
