Muzaffarpur : DSP, Muzaffarpur, Ram Naresh Paswan, on December 27, 2021, said that police have lodged a case against 7 persons  including Vikash Modi and his wife Shweta, the owner of Anshul  Confectionary (noodle factory ), Uday Shankar, Manager, and four  other employees of the factory (Boiler Section) under various sections of  IPC. They are, however, yet to be arrested.

It may be recalled  here that seven labourers  were  killed while nine labourers sustained  burn injuries on December 26, 2021. after a boiler exploded inside the noodle factory at Bela Industrial Area of Muzaffarpur Town in North Bihar.  SSP, Muzaffarpur, Jayant Kant  said that the incident took place around  10 am when  the labourers had  just gathered near noodle factory in Bela Industrial Area under Bela police station (PS) of Muzaffarpur,  that is  dotted with small flour, rice and beaten rice mill units besides several noodle factories.

The sound of explosion was so deafening that it was heard  far and wide and the roof tops of some other adjoining buildings in this area including a beaten rice mill were blown away by impact. The explosion reduced the noodle factory to rubbles. Majority of labourers,  who were killed or injured, are native of  Madhubani, East Champaran, Sheohar, and Muzaffarpur districts.

Bihar Industry Minisyer Shahnawaj Hussain inspected  the factory on December 26, 2021, evening, and  ordered an inquiry in the blast. CM Nitish Kumar had on December 26 ordered a probe into the incident to fix responsibility for the negligence leading to blast. He said strict action will be taken against the  persons responsible for this incident .
