Sitamarhi: A Bhitha Police Outpost team on November 8, 2017, led by Sub -Inspector (SI) Satish Chandra Singh arrested three smugglers with 78 bottles of Nepalise liquor near the embankment of river Rato on Indo–Nepal border in Sitamarhi district.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Yogendra Mandal, Jhagru Mandal and Manik Mandal. Yogendra Mandal and Jhagru Mandal belong to village Simiyahi while Manik Mandal hails from village Diwari in Sitamarhi district. During their interrogation, the arrested smugglers admitted that frequently visit Nepal in connection with liquor trade advantage of the porous border. Police are searching for their other accomplices.
