Sitamarhi : Untimely heavy rain and hailstorm with gusty wind lashed Sitamarhi District in North Bihar both on February 4 and 5, 2022, causing extensive damage to Rabi crops particularly to standing Wheat, Maize, and Mustard, crops.
Agricultural experts say farmers’s loss is manifold owing to wind. Crops fell in the field and this would disturb the pollination process. Farmers in view of skyrocketing mustard oil prices in the market had sown it on more acres of land this time. Several thatched houses were blown away due to the speedy wind.. As a result, severe cold conditions prevail in the district.
