Three killed, one injured in Sitamarhi accident

Sitamarhi: Three persons were crushed to death near Bachcharpur village mosque on NH 104 under Pupri Sub- division in Sitamarhi district on September 12, 2017, when a speeding pick up van rammed into a public utility building ( toilet).

Md. Zahir Ahmad Moti, 70, Md. Nasir Ahmad, 60, and Md. Zahirul Haque, 50, died on the spot while an injured Md. Rahmat Ali was referred to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in view of his critical condition. All the four were coming on the road after offering day’s prayer at the village mosque when the incident took place. Police seized the pick up van and arrested its driver and cleaner.

The villagers blocked Sitamarhi-Pupri road for several hours to register their protest against the incident. They, however, lifted the blockade after being persuaded by Pupri civil SDO Kishore Kumar.
