Nawada : Nawada district RJD president, Mahendra Yadav,  55, was on December 20, 2017, unceremoniously sacked from his post by Tej Pratap Yadav,  former health minister and elder son of RJD boss Lalu Prasad.

Tej Pratap Yadav had arrived at Sirdalla under Rajauli sub-division to inaugurate a local cricket tournament. However, he lost his cool when he found that Mahendra Yadav, the three term RJD district president, was not among the local RJD party leaders to greet him on his arrival. Peeved at the “audacity” of Mahendra Yadav, he announced to the gathering that Mahendra Yadav was no longer the party’s district president and was being replaced by a much younger Ashok Yadav, 27, the nephew of rape-accused and jailed Nawada RJD MLA Rajballabh Yadav.

The announcement was lustily cheered by the youthful crowd. It may be mentioned here that Ashok Yadav’s father late Krishna Yadav was a former BJP MLA from Nawada but had switched over to RJD in the early nineties’s. Krishna Yadav’s premature death  in a road accident in 1993, had resulted in the political rise of his younger brother Rajballabh Yadav.
However, as an afterthought, Tej Pratap said that he would inform the party supremo Lalu Prasad of the development on his return to the state capital and ensure that Mahendra was replaced by Ashok Yadav.  Efforts to seek Mahendra Yadav’s views on the development proved vain as the latter had switched of his mobile phone.
