Nawada :  Around  six masked criminals riding three bikes looted over Rs 12 lakh cash at gun point from the South Bihar Gramin Bank branch ,Nardiganj, in Nawada District in South Bihar in broad daylight on March 4, 2021, and escaped firing in the air. Nardiganj is a small market in Nawada District, about 28 km away from the district headquarters Nawada and 11 km away from Hisua.

Naswada SP D S Savlaram told this  reporter that he personally visited the spot and made preliminary inquiry into the cash loot. Police  are conducting raids at the suspected  hideouts of the criminals to arrest them, he added.

According to  police, ,quoting the Bank Manager, around six criminals in 25-30 year age group, barged into the Nardiganj branch of South Bihar Gramin Bank, held the Manager and other employees hostage at gun point, and looted  cash. The also assaulted the customers present at the bank. The criminals also assaulted  the Manager and employees of bank  when they delayed handing over the keys of iron chest of bank to them. The operation continued for 25 minutes.

The locals claimed  that the criminals escaped on bikes  parked outside the bank. They also opened fire in the air while escaping to terrorise the locals.
