Woman thrashed to death by villagers in Nawada for allegedly practicing witchcraft

Nawada :  A fifty year old woman was  thrashed to death at village Koyaligarh under Govindpur police station in Nawada district here on July 23, 2019, by villagers, who suspected her of practicing witchcraft.

The woman, who had gone to fetch water in the morning, was later found lying on the ground in a pool of blood with villagers standing nearby accusing her of practicing witchcraft, alleged her husband in an FIR lodged against 12 residents of the village in the complaint, according to the local police. Police arrested four persons, named in the FIR and are searching for the remaining accused. The body was  sent for post-mortem.

The woman was attacked with bamboo and wooden sticks around 8 am on July 23, according to police. She was brought over to police station by her husband and other family members. Police rushed her to a primary health centre, where doctors declared her brought dead, said police.
