Police arrest Sarpanch for brewing illicit liquor at Rohtas village

Sasaram : Police on March 25, 2019, arrested Sarpanch of Ghusia Khurd Panchayat under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district, Radheshyam Singh, a resident of village Redia under Bikramganj block, red handed allegedly selling and brewing illicit liquor.

Police seized equipment being used for brewing illicit liquor, spirit, empty bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from his house. A named FIR was lodged with Bikramganj police station against Radheshyam Singh under Prohibition & Excise Act and he was sent to jail.

SHO, Bikramganj police station, Priya Ranjan, said that police were trying to arrest Radheshyam Singh for the last nine months but every time police reached the village to conduct raids, his family members shut the door of the house. So the police this time went there in planned way and police force included lady constables. Police entered the house and arrested the Sarpanch, the SHO said.
