Sasaram : Two matriculation students were killed when their car fell into a canal at village Padawa under Dharmpur police outpost in Rohtas District on February 17, 2022. The deceased were identified as Rohit, 16, son of Dharmendra Singh, and his cousin Ajit, 17, son of Yogendra Singh of village Bhagwalia.
Family members of the deceased said that Rohit and Ajit along with two others had gone to village Kaniyari in Dinara area from Padari village on February 16, 2022, to attend a marriage ceremony. After attending the marriage, they were returning to their native village in a car after midnight. When they reached near Padawa Bridge at village Simaria, the driver of the car lost control over the steering due to headlight of another vehicle coming from opposite direction and the car fell into a canal. All the four were rushed to the nearby hospital where the doctor declared Ajit and Rohit dead. Both the deceased were to appear at the matriculation examination.
