Sasaram : Police seized arms and ammunition from a hut in Kotam forest in Kaimur hills under Buddi Police Outpost in Rohtas district around mid-night on March 15, 2019. Police seized a rifle, a countrymade gun, a countrymade pistol, and 19 live cartridges though the miscreants escaped from the place.
Rohtas SP Sayaveer Singh said that he got information that some miscreants were realising money from people posing as naxals during Shivratri fair and it was suspected that they were carrying arms and ammunition. He ordered police and CRPF at Badalgarh (Chenari) under Assistant Commandant, CRPF, to launch a search operation in the Kotam forest in Kaimur hill under Buddy Police Outpost.
Police and CRPF, during a search operation, located a hut in the jungle and seized rifle, gun, pistol and live cartridges from there. There were some indication that food cooked over there. The SP said that the miscreants cooked food in the hut and operated from there and added that they escaped from the spot in a haste seeing cops leaving arms and ammunition behind. The SP said that he is reviewing the security arrangement.
