Woman forces 2 daughters to consume Sulphas tab, consumes it herself too, 1 girl dies

Sasaram : A fifty-two year old woman with her two daughters allegedly consumed Sulphas tabs at village Rampur Laduyi under Kargahar police station in Rohtas district on March 24, 2019, evening. All the three were admitted to Sasaram Sadar Hospital where one of the daughters died while the doctors referred the woman and her another daughter to Varanasi in view of their serious condition.

SHO, Kargahar police station, said that Kanti Devi, 52, wife of Rajendra Sah, has two sons and two daughters. Rajendra Sah and his sons : Guddu Sah and Akash Sah, work at a cotton Mill at Surat in Gujarat. Kanti Devi lived at Rampur Laduyi village along with her daughters : Saloni Kumari, 15, and Anita Kumari, 22.

On March 24, 2019, evening, angry with her daughters for not cooperating with her in household works, Kanti Devi administered Sulphas to her daughters and also consumed it herself, the SHO said. As the news came to the knowledge of the villagers, they rushed them to Sasaram Sadar Hospital where Saloni Kumari died during treatment while the doctors referred Kanti Devi and Anita Kumari to Varanasi, he said.

Anita Kumari said at Sasaram Sadar Hospital that her mother forcibly administered tablets of Sulphas into their mouth and consumed it herself but she threw the tablet later.
