Ara : Police arrested three members of an inter-state gang of mobile snatchers on March 20, 2019, near Dhangai in Bhojpur district and also seized a motorcycle and six mobile phones from their possession. The arrested miscreants were identified as Gorakh Mali of Gausganj under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district, and Ritik and Toofani Mali of Kesath village under Chaugai police station in Buxar district. All three are cousins.
SHO, Dhangai police station, said that Ritik and Toofani Mali had come to Ara to meet their cousin Gorakh Mali and had snatched six mobiles from passengers at different places at Ara and escaped. On March 20, they were going to Kesath on a motorcycle. Police stopped them near Dhangai police station on NH 30 but they sped up and tried to escape. But, police chased and arrested them. The SHO said that during interrogation they confessed their crime.
Police produced them before Ara Civil Court. On the direction of the court, police brought them over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for medical examination. Police lodged a named FIR against them and sent them to jail.
