Patna : Police arrested two persons and recovered a kidnapped three year boy Himanshu Kumar from Raghopur diara (riverine
belt) in Vaishali district in North Bihar on March 19, 2019.
Police said that on March 18, 2019, Himanshu Kumar, 3, was abducted by two persons of his village at 10 am when he was playing outside his house at village Chandasi under Gaurichak police station in Patna district. The abductors had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from Himanshu’s father Chintoo Kumar for the safe return of his son.
Chintoo Kumar had lodged an FIR against two named persons in this connection with the police station concerned at around 1 pm on March 18. Taking serious note of the kidnapping, Patna Senior SP (SSP) Garima Mallik constituted a special team led by City SP (East) directing it to ensure safe recovery of the boy and arrest of those involved in the crime.
Based on technical investigations, the special police team within four to five hours of abduction conducted raids in Raghopur diara (riverine belt) in neighbouring Vaishali district and recovered the boy from there.
Soon after recovery of Himanshu, the police team carried out raids at several places and arrested both the abductors identified as Vimlesh Kumar and Monu Kumar. The arrested abductors hail from Chandasi village under Gaurichak police station.
The statement of Himanshu’s father Chintoo Kumar was later recorded in a local court.
