Patna police arrest 5 persons for running Matka racket

Patna : Police arrested five persons involved in Matka were arrested from Takiapar locality under Malasalami police sation, Patna, during a raid conducted on July 26, 2018, at 11 am.

Police had received complaints fom local women regarding gambling and eve-teasing in the area to which police claimed to have responded very quickly. Eight 8 persons were involved in the gambling of which 3 managed to escape. An FIR was lodged in this connection by an ASI of Malsalami police station S N Das.

The arrested persons included Guddu Kumar alias Guddu Chaurasia, Shantu Kumar, and Pramod Kumar, said SHO, Malasalami police station. The 2 main racketeers : Deepu Singh and Mannu Pandit, managed to escape. Police also seized Rs 7,100 cash, 2 mobile phones, and a register from the spot.
