Sitamarhi: The mortal remains of former Bihar minister and senior HAM (S) leader Shahid Ali Khan, 56, were laid to rest at village Mehsaul graveyard in Sitamarhi district with full state honour on January 6, 2018. Shahid died due to cardiac arrest at a hotel at Jaipur while returning from Ajmer Sharif on January 4. He represented Sitamarhi and Pupri assembly segments four times. His native village is Akhata in Sitamarhi district.

A large gathering of mourners participated in his Supur De Khak yatra from Sitamarhi town residence to Mehsaul. HAM (S) chief and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, senior RJD legislator Abdul Bari Siddiqui, former minister Devesh Chandra Thakur, several MLAs, MLCs were prominent among those present on the occasion.
