DM leads nutrition awareness rally at Sitamarhi

Sitamarhi: A two- day ‘Poshan (Nutrition) Mela’ got underway at Janaki stadium, Dumra, in Sitamarhi district on September 29, 2018. It was inaugurated by people’s representatives and Sitamarhi DM Dr Ranjeet Kumar Singh. The DM said that after ODF, the district is inching towards achieving the milestone of malnutrition free.

The Union and state governments have initiated this mission on priority basis, the DM said. The district administration is fully committed to reduce the rate of malnutrition among newborn children, young girls, and women, he added.
More than hundred stalls of various departments and private organisations have been installed to mark the fair.
Sitamarhi MP Ram Kumar Sharma, former minister and Bajpatti MLA Dr Ranju Geeta, DDC Prabhat Kumar, Civil SDO Satyendra Prasad, and DPO Chandni  Singh also addressed the function. A cultural programme followed on September 29 evening.

A big awareness rally under the leadership of the DM was taken out from Vishwanathpur near NH 77 to Janaki stadium on September 30, 2018.
