Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : Acting on a tip off and showing excellent policing under the leadership of Deoghar SP Vijaylaxmi and Dumka  DIG Akhilesh Jha, police on September 5, 2017, night, recovered Rs 51 lakh cash looted from United Bank of India, Deoghar branch, in Jharkhand,  two days back in broad daylight. Police also arrested four criminals, who were hiding in rented house at Khaga, Deoghar, seized three countrymade pistols along with cartridges, an SUV and a motorcycle which were used while committing the bank loot.

Deoghar SP  Vijayalaxmi stated that soon after the loot, two teams of cops were constituted and the CCTV footage indicated Bihar based criminals were involved in the crime. ” The registration number of the used SUV was also flashed after which the rented house used by the criminals was located and raid was conducted there on September 5  night. Not only the four criminals were arrested but even the looted cash was recovered. We are further interrogating the criminals to know about the other members of the gang and whether the same gang was involved in other bank dacoity cases in Jharkhand and even neighbouring state of Bihar. It’s indeed a big success for police,”stated the SP.
