Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Ravi Gorai, 26, who got married only two months back, was killed in an accident on September 4, 2017, while his brother- in- law Bablu Gorai suffered multiple injuries when a bus going from Bokaro to Purulia lost control and dashed the two and later hit a tree at Chauwatand under Pindrajora police station in Bokaro district, about 24 km away from Bokaro Steel City in Jharkhand. The accident took place around 9 am on National highway 32 connecting Purulia with Dhanbad passing through Chas township.

Soon after the accident, the villagers blocked the highway for more than 2 hours demanding compensation to the next of the kin of the deceased. They allowed police to lift the body only after Chas DSP Mahesh Singh and Chas BOD Kapil Kumar promised all help to the family concerned as per governmen rules.
Police sources said Ravi had to Chauwatand on the occasion of Karma festival to meet his wife and was taking a stroll along with his brother in.law near the highway when the fast moving bus lost its control and dashed them. Ravi died while being taken to Bokaro general hospital while injured Bablu has been admitted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.
