Buxar : Police on August 28, 2018, evening, arrested married Pappu Sonar of village Chaugai in Buxar district for marrying a second girl and sent him to jail.
SHO, Buxar Woman police station, Kanchan Kumari, said that Pappu Sonar was married to Rupsana Thakur four months ago and he kept his wife at Dumraon. When she became pregnant, he forcibly aborted her. Meanwhile, with the consent of his family members, he married a second girl without giving divorce to his first wife.
When Rupsana Thakur came to know about the second marriage of her husband, she at once went to her in-laws but they shooed her away. She staged dharana in front of the house of her in-laws at Chaugai for five bays but they remained unmoved. At this, she lodged a named FIR with Woman police station against her in-laws and husband and police, acting on her complaint, arrested her husband Pappu Sonar and sent him to jail.
