Buxar : Civil Surgeon (CS), Buxar, Dr Usha Kiran Verma, on May 31, 2019, suspended a GNM Nirmala Kumari with immediate effect for allegedly thrashing a doctor and rampage at Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dumraon, on May 24, 2019.
Munni Devi, wife of Mahendra Mahato of village Kopawa was admitted to Dumraon Sub-Divisional Hospital for delivery and she gave birth a male child on May 23, 2019, night, but the baby died sometime after his birth and the family members alleged that he died due to negligence of the nurse Nirmala Kumari. At this, Dr Vinish Kumar rebuked the nurse. An angry Nirmala Kumari thrashed the doctor and also called her husband and some other persons on the spot. Later, the Nurse and her aides went on rampage at the hospital and damaged hospital property and also thrashed the doctor.
Deputy Superintendent incharge, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dumraoo, R K Srivastava, lodged a named FIR with Dumraon police station against five persons including GNM Nirmala Kumari and her husband Gyanendra Kumar in connection with assault on doctor on duty and rampage at the Sub-Divisional Hospital. Police arrested three of them : Binod Kumar, son of Vikas Kumar, Dipu Kumar, son of Gorakh Paswan, and Vikas Kumar, son of Shiv Ji Paswan of Harpur village under Itadhi police station. The CS had formed a committee to inquire into the matter.
The CS said that the inquiry committee was formed on the direction of the Buxar DM and action was taken after the inquiry committee found the GNM guilty in its report.
