Buxar administration stays marriage of minor girl

Buxar : The district administration stayed the marriage of a minor girl at village Pratapsagar under New Bhojpur police outpost in Buxar district on May 28, 2019, and also got a written oath from her father that she would not be married till she attains the legal age of marriage.

Buxar SDO Harendra Ram said that a daily wage earner Bajrangi Yadav of village Pratapsagar under New Bhojpur police outpost had arranged marriage of his minor daughter Anjusha Kumari with Satyendra Yadav, son of Brigunath Yadav of Hata village under Simari block in Buxar district, and the marriage was to be solemnized on May 28, 2019.

Meanwhile, someone informed the Buxar SDO that marriage of a minor girl was going to be solemnized at Pratapsagar and on his direction, Block Development Officer (BDO) Pramod Kumar and SHO, New Bhojpur police outpos,t Rishikesh Singh reached Pratapsagar village to inquire into the matter. After inquiry, the BDO found the complaint correct and he immediately stayed the marriage and also got a written oath from Anjusha Kumari and Bajrangi Yadav that  the marriage would be solemnised after she attains the legal age of marriage.
