Muzaffarpur : Fast erosion being caused by river Budhi Gandak is posing threat to about 200 houses at village Budhnagra Radha and another 300 houses at Budhnagra Malikana Tola in Muzaffarpur district. The river is fast eroding its bank.
Budhnagra Radha residents Brahmdev Paswan, Hiralal Paswan, Ramashish Sah, Premchand Kumar, Tuntun Tiwary, Krishnakant Jha, Murari Shankar Jha, Surendra Jha and Birendra Jha said that their houses were facing serious erosion threat as the river was fast getting nearer to the village. Cratings and boulders placed on the river bank five years back under anti-erosion scheme have been swept away in the current, they said. Only a village road separates these houses from the river. The villagers have cut trees located on the river bank and pushed them into the river to stop the erosion, which has slowed down slightly. They have demanded anti-erosion work immediately.
