Ara : Hundreds of activists of Bharatiya Krantiveer Party (BKP) under the leadership of their national president Vaidyaraj Krishna Paswan blocked Ara-Sandesh main road near Sandesh on June 15, 2019, in protest against illegal sand mining besides pressing their 14 point demands.
Vaidyaraj Krishna Paswan said that illegal sand mining of sand has been going on with impunity right under the nose of the officials of the Bhojpur district administration and Sandesh police. The sand mafias have dug sand about 40 feet to 50 feet deep lowering the water level in the areas concerned. He said that his party demands ban on use of JCB in sand digging and illegal storage of sand and raids on the properties of the sand mafias, Circle Officers, Block Development Officers, officials of the Mines department, removal of sand loaded trucks from the road, and filling up of ditches. He said that their agitation and road blockade would continue till their demands were conceded.
