Sitamarhi: A Sitamarhi police team headed ASP Sandip Kumar Niraj on August 8, 2017, arrested two criminals notorious for seeking `Rangdari tax’ (extortion money) from traders from village Jainagar under Riga block in the district.
The two criminals : Ajay Kumar and Raushan Kumar, were arrested along with two countrymade pistols, three live cartridges and Rs 40,000 cash. Police have also seized some mobile phones from their possession. Two motorbike borne unidentified criminals had fired a few pistol shots in the air on August 6, 2017, at Sitamarhi to terrorise the gold merchants. Sitamarhi town police Inspector Anil Kumar Sharma said that they had been to jailed earlier too.
