Woman’s body recovered from well at Bhojpur village

Ara : Police recovered body of a woman from a well at village Ramdatahi under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on December 22, 2017, and brought it to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased was identified as Durgawati Devi, 21, wife of Manoj Yadav of village Ramdatahi. The reasons behind her death are yet to be ascertained though her father and others alleged that Durgawati was killed by her her in-laws.

SHO, Bihia police station, Bimlesh Kumar said that Durgawati Devi, 21, daughter of Vanshropan Yadav of village Nauranga under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district, was married to Manoj Yadav, son of Jiut Yadav of village Ramdatahi under Bihia police station in 2015. Durgawati had given birth to a female child on December 16, 2017, at the Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Her in-laws said that after the birth of a girl child, she was tensed and on December 18, 2017, she disappeared from the house. They searched for her but on December 22, 2017, morning, they found her body in a well of the village. The SHO said that the father of the deceased had informed him that she waskilled but legal action would be initiated only after a written complaint is lodged.
