Woman killed at in-laws’ place for dowry in Bhojpur

Ara : A  woman Radhika Devi was strangulated to death at her in-laws’ place at village Badkagaon Akhtiyarpur under Gajrajganj police outpost in Bhojpur on November 7, 2017, allegedly for dowry. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR was lodged with police but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.

SHO, Gajrajganj police outpost, said that Radhika Devi of Chhotaki Sasaram under Gajrajganj police outpost was married to Sunil Turaha of village Badkagaon Akhtiyarpur a year ago and was being tortured by her in-laws ever since for dowry. When their demands for more dowry was not fulfilled, they allegedly strangulated her to death. After Radhika’s death, Sunil Turaha disappeared, the SHO said.
