Bagaha : Reena Devi of village Balua under Bhitaha police station in West Champaran district was allegedly killed on October 16, 2017, by her in- laws after she failed to meet their demand for a bike as dowry. The autopsy was performed at Government Hospital, Bagaha, on October 17.
Reena Devi’s father Chanchal Gond of village Badawapatti in Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh has lodged a dowry case with Bhitaha police station saying that his daughter was married to Santosh Gond 18 months back and he had given Rs 1.5 lakh cash as dowry besides gold chain yet his son- in- law was demanding a bike. As he failed to meet his demand, his daughter was allegedly killed by her in-laws by gagging her mouth. SHO, Bhitaha police station, Lal Babu Prasad said that police were probing the incident and accused will be arrested very soon.
