Ara: Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, administration has planned to improve standard of research work and it is likely to be implemented from next session. The Academic council of the VKSU has already approved the proposal. UGC Regulation 2009 has been approved by the office of governor and now the research scholars would their research work in the university itself. \

Vice Chancellor, VKSU, Leela Chand Sah said that the university administration planned quality improvement in the thesis. He said that the university would verify whether any thesis was written on the topic in the past on which a research scholar is wishing to do research work. The repetition of research work on the same topic will be discouraged and checked through software and the VKSU administration is trying to install such software. The research scholars will have to submit two CDs along with their thesis henceforth.

The VC said that as per the UGC Regulation 2009, a person wishing to do Ph.D will have to pass Pre-Ph.D examination and after that he or she will make a presentation based on his or her topic before the department concerned prior to research work. Then he /she has to complete semester course that will be called Pre-Ph.D work that includes computer application course. After completing Pre-Ph.D course, a research scholar will have to brief the department about the synopsys through power presentation at the meeting of the Departmental Research Council (DRC). The VC further said that after the DRC approves the thesis, the department concerned will decide the supervisor. The period of submission of thesis will be four years. Before submitting the thesis, the department concerned will organize a pre-submission seminar where the research scholar will give details of the work done.
