Villagers block Buxar – Chausa road

Buxar : Irate villagers blocked Buxar-Chausa main road near village Mishrawalia on June 11, 2017,  for about three hours paralysing the movement of vehicles. They were demanding compensation for a cattle killed on June 11, 2017, evening along with two persons in an accident. Buxar district administration had given compensation to the next of kin of the deceased but nothing was given for the cattle.

Two youth and a cow were killed and three other seriously injured when a speeding ambulance crushed them near village Mishrawalia under Buxar Muffassil police station on June 10 night when they were sitting outside their houses. Angry villagers had blocked the road after the accident. Even the officials had to face the wrath of the people. Later, officials pacified the people and gave compensation to next of kin of the two deceased.

But the villagers again blocked the road on June 11 as the district administration did not give a single penny to the owner of the cow.  The blockade was lifted after the officials assured the owner of the cow Krishna Yadav of compensation for his loss. The officials also rescued the driver of the ambulance, Durga Prasad, of Jalhara village under Rajpur police station, who was made hostage by the villagers after the incident.

DSP Shaishav Yadav said that the driver was returning after dropping a patient at Varanasi and was in a drunken state. He could not see the people near roadside and run over them.
