Saharsa: One Devesh Kumar Singh, 25, a native of village Mangwar under Patarghat Block in Saharsa district, on September 24, 2017, attacked a Tailor Master Mohd Azim, 60, of village Dumrail, with a knife at Laxminia Chowk under Sadar Police station, Saharsa, inflicting serious injuries in his head, neck and eye. When a resident of village Sinhoul Lallan Singh, 40, tried to intervene, Devesh stabbed him in the stomach. Finally, the locals mustered courage and caught Devesh and thrashed him. Devesh was admitted to Saharsa Sadar Hospital.
Both Mohd Azim and Lallan Singh have been admitted to different private hospitals at Saharsa. Devesh, according Azim’s kin, allegedly wants to forcibly evict the tailor master from his Laxminia Chowk based shop. Devesh has, however, denied the charges against him. He said that since he is amember of a particular political party, some people at Laxminia Chowk are critical of him hence attacked him on September 24. But, Mohd Azim’s daughter alleged that Devesh attacked his father with a knife at Laxminia Chowk. SHO, Sadar Police Station, Saharsa, Bhai Bharat, said that police were inquiring into the incident.
