Saharsa : A married woman of village Bhoraha in Rampura panchayat uner Simribakhtiarpur police station in Saharsa district on September 24, 2017, lodgd an FIR with the police station against Baba Harimohan Das of  Santmat Satsang Mandir located at village Hirapatti under the same panchayat alleging he tried to outrage her modesty on September 22, 2017, at 4 am near Raipura Chowk finding her alone.

Investigating Officer (IO) of the case Nitesh Kumar visited Santmat Satsang Mandir on September 24 and quizzed Baba Harimohan Das besides collection information from the devotees present there. The woman, in her FIR, alleged that she had gone for a walk to Raipura Chowk where Baba Harimohan Das started talking to her in vungar language and made advances towards her. When she rebuked him, the Baba tried to drag her into his room at the Mandir. When she started shouting for help, the Baba started beating her.

Baba Harimohan Das has strongly denied the charges levelled against him by the woman. He said that the woman had been stopped from visting the temple two months back due to her conduct. He said that on September 22, he had a heated exchange with the woman at 9 am on the temple premises in the presence of several devotees.

SHO, Simribakhtiarpur police station, Rakesh Kumar Singh, said that police were inquiring into the incident and if Baba Das is found guilty action would be taken against him. Similarly, if the allegations against Baba Das are found false, action would be taken against the woman concerned. Das had shifted to Saharsa from Kishanganj 15 years back.
