Two persons killed, 1 injured in accident Agiao Bazaar-Sonvarsha main road on Mar 8

Ara : Two persons were killed and one seriously injured when a speeding Pick-Up van collided head-on with a motorcycle on  Agiao Bazaar-Sonvarsha main road under Agiao Bazaar police station in Bhojpur district on March 8, 2019, late evening. The deceased were identified as Bihari Pandey alias Pintu Pandey, 40, and Amirchand Ram, 45. The injured was identified as Sampat Yadav alias Surendra Yadav.

Irate villagers blocked NH-30 near Sonbarsha and Agiao Bazaar-Sonbarsha main road near village Khairahi with the bodies for about three hours. They burnt tyres on roads raising slogans against the district administration and demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation to the families of each of the deceased. The injured was admitted to Sadar Hospital, Ara. The blockade was lifted around mid-night after the Block Development Officer (BDO), Agiao, Manendra Kumar, announced to give Rs 4 lakh and Rs 20,000 under the disaster management to each of the deceased’s family. Police brought the bodies over to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

SHO, Agiao Bazaar police station, said that Bihari Pandey of village Teekpokhar along with Sampat Yadav and Amirchand Ram of Khairahi village were going towards Sonbarsha on a motorcycle and when a speeding Pick-Up van collided head-on with the motorcycle killing Amirchand Ram, son of Maduri Ram, and Bihari Pandey, son of Kapil Muni Pandey on the spot and injuring Sampat Yadav.
