Patna: A Patna police team arrested two members of notorious Nepali gang and recovered huge cash, ATM cards and cellphones from their possession.

Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj had received inputs that members of notorious Nepali gang have become active in the state capital and were illegally drawing cash with the help of Nepali ATM cards from different ATMs in the state capital. A police team led by City SP (Central) and comprising Gandhi Maidan ps SHO and other police officials was constituted to crack the case. SSP also directed the police team to prepare sketches of criminals after watching footages of CCTV cameras and find the members of this particular gang.

The police team started collecting information about different criminals. During this, the team members came to know that some suspicious persons were seen near an ATM of Corporation Bank on Exhibition Road, Patna, and  trying to draw cash from there. The cops reached there and arrested two persons from there and recovered several ATM cards of different companies and over Rs 4 lakh from the possession of the arrested youth.

During interrogation, the arrested youth told police that the gang members used to loot or steal ATM cards in Nepal and used to withdraw cash in Bihar. The other members of the gang have been identified and investigation in the case is going on the basis of footages of CCTV cameras.  Raids were on to arrest the other members of the gang, police said. The arrested youth have been identified as Puroshottam Kumar and Mahadeo Sao, both natives of village Auraiya under Gaur police station in Rautahaat district in Nepal. Police seized over Rs. 4.43 lakh cash, 47 ATM cards of different companies and two cellphones.
