Patna : Tejinder Pal Singh Toor, 23, won Gold Medal in the Shot Put at the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta- Palembang, Indonesia, on August 25, 2018. Tejinder Pal Singh Toor won Gold Medal with a throw of 20.75m in the men’s Shot Put final, a Asian Games record. He hails from village Khosa Pando in Moga district in Punjab and belongs to a family of farmers. He switched over to Shot Put from cricket on his father’s suggestion.

Dipika Pallikal, Joshna Chinappa, and Saurabh Ghosal won Bronze Medals in Squash. All the three players lost in the respective semi-finals and had to settle for Bronze Medals.
