Patna : World No 4 Viktor Axelsen, 25, Denmark, and World No 7 Kidambi Srikanth, 26, India, will clash in the final of Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2019, an HSBC Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 500 level tournament, on March 31, 2019, at K D Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi.

Axelsen,the 2017 World Champion, beat World No 55 Parupalli Kashyap, 32, India, 21-11, 21-17 in 43 minutes in the semi-finals on March 30, 2019. Axelsen won 42 rallies in the match to 28 by Kashyap. He won 6 consecutive points to 4 by Kashyap in the match. Kashyap, however, leads Axelsen 2-1 head to head. Axelsen had recently reached final of BWF All England Open Badminton Championships 2019.

Srikanth beat World No 30 Huang Yuxiang, 26, China, in a three-game thriller 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 in 64 minutes in the semi-finals on March 30. Srikanth won 58 rallies in the match to 54 by Yuxiang. Both the players won 6 consecutive points each in the match. Srikant lost the first game but came back strongly to win the next tw9 games. Srikanth leads Yuxiang 4-1 head to head.
