Patna : World No 6 P V Sindhu, 23, India, lost to World No 7 HE Bingjiao, 22, China, in the semi-finals of Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2019, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 level tournament, at K D Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, on March 30, 2019.

Third seed Bingjiao beat 2nd seed Sindhu in straight games 23-21, 21-18 in 55 minutes in the semi-finals. Bingjiao won 44 rallies in the match to 39 by Sindhu. She won 4 consecutive points to 3 by Sindhu. Bingjiao now leads Sindhu 9-5 head to head.

Bingjiao will face two-times former champion and 4th seed Ratchanok Intanon, 24, Thailand, in the final on March 31, 2019. World No 8 Intanon beat World No 13 Han Yue, 19, China, in three-games 21-15, 19-21, 21-18 in 66 minutes in the semi-finals on March 30, 2019. Intanon won 66 rallies in the match to 54 by Han Yue. But, Han won 7 consecutive points to 5 by Intanon. Intanon leads Han 2-0 head to head. Intanon is a former World Champion and has won 19 career titles.
