Spl Land Acquisition Deptt to recover embezzled fund from BoB

Saharsa : The Special Land Acquisition Department, Saharsa, will recover Rs 1 crore from Saharsa and Bhagalpur branches of Bank of Baroda (BoB). The amount was transferred into the account of an NGO Srijan Mahila Vikas Sahyog Samiti in a fraudulent manner in 2012-13 from the account of Special Land Acquisition Department. The amount was transferred back to Special Land Acquition Department in 2015 putting the bank in the dock.

Meanwhile, the  Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Additional Secretary, Water Resources Department (WRD), Gorakhnath, which has been probing into the scam for the last two days,  has detected transfer of Rs 162 crore from th account of Special Land Acquisition Department into the account of Bhagalpur based NGO Srijan during 2012-13. Special Land Acquisition Officer, Saharsa, Rajkumar Gupta, said Saharsa and Bhagalpur branches of Bank of Baroda were found involved in the scam during investigation and FIRs would be lodged against them. Special Land Acquisition Officer, Patna, Vikas Kumar, and Special Land Acquisition Officer, Darbhanga, Ashok Kumar Jha, are also members of the SIT.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, in his Independence Day speech at Patna Gandhi Maidan, said that no one would be spared in the alleged embezzlement of government funds by a Bhagalpur based non-governmental organisation. ” I assure the people of the state that the guilty, whether they are government or bank employee or any other person, will not be spared,” CM Nitish Kumar said.
