Saharsa : Fortyeight convicted lodged in Saharsa Divisional jail including former MP Anand Mohan were shifted to Purnia Central jail on August 13, 2017, morning. Anand Mohan’s supporters strongly protested his transfer to Purnia jail and threatened to launch an agitation if he is not brought back to Saharsa jail at the earliest.
Chetan Anand, nation president of student wing of HAM (S) and son of Anand Mohan, CPI leader Om Prakash Narayan, Congress leader Guneshwar Singh, Saharsa district president of Friends of Anand Mohan, Ajay Kumar Singh Babloo alleged that the state government was trying to suppress the voice of jailed former MP. They said Anand Mohan is grandson of a freedom fighter. They also claimed that Saharsa Divisional jail building is in very good condition and does not need repair.
