Patna : South Africa were 65/2 in 20 overs at stumps in their second innings on the second day of the first test against India at Newlands, Cape Town, on January 6, 2018, with Kagiso Raba batting on two and Hashim Amla on 4 not out. Earlier, opener Dean Elgar, who had failed to score in the first innings, was out for 25 in 54 balls hitting 4 fours while his partner Aiden Markram, who had scored only 5 in the first innings, was out for 34 in 43 balls hitting 7 fours. Both the wickets were taken by all rounder Hardik Pandya, who scored 93 in India’s first innings.
South Africa had made 286 in 73.1 overs in their first innings on the first day of the first test on January 5. In reply, India made 209 in 73.4 overs in their first innings.
