Patna : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a second chargesheet against RJD Rajya Sabha Member Dr Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar in a money laundering case before a Delhi court. The court on January 6, 2018, posted the matter for February 5, 2018, for consideration. Misa Bharti is daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who was on January 6, 2018, sentenced to three-and-a-half year imprisonment in a Fodder scam by a Special CBI court, Ranchi, in Jharkhand.

Aghast with the repeated filing of chargesheets by the ED in connection with its money laundering probe against Misa Bharti and Shailesh Kumar, Special ED Judge N K Malhotra censured the ED for not letting the trial begin. TheĀ  court, according to sources, wondered as to how many supplementary chargesheets the ED will file?

The ED, it may be recalled, had earlier attached a Delhi farmhouse, located at 26, Palam Farms in south Delhi’s Bijwasan area under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), in connection with its probe against Misa Bharti and Shailesh Kumar claiming it belongs to them and is held in the name of Ms Mishail Packers and Printers Private Limited. It was purchased using Rs 1.2 crore involved in money laundering in 2008-09, the ED had claimed, said sources. Misa Bharti and Shailesh were also quizzed by the ED and their statements were recorded by it in the case.
