Ara : Some unidentified miscreants entered a temple at Lohia Chowk on Ara-Sasaram main road under Piro police stationat around midnight on August 27, 2018, and decamped with an idol of Goddess Durga made of silver. On August 28, when the priest of the temple Manoj Upadhayay opened the temple, he found the idol of Goddess Durga missing. He raised an alarm and also complained to police in writing. Police said that an FIR will be lodged after thorough investigation.
SHO, Piro police station, said that the priest of the Pitan Devi temple at Lohia Chowk had shut the door and adytum of the temple after 9pm on August 27 and returned home. Around midnight, some unidentified miscreants entered the temple and decamped with the idol of Goddess Durga made of 400 gram of silver. On August 28, when the door of the temple was opened, the idol was found missing. He said that police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants and recover the idol.
